Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made on behalf of Man with Van Chelsea. It describes the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere within our business or among our suppliers.
Modern slavery includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, debt bondage, and human trafficking. Man with Van Chelsea recognises that the transport, logistics, and associated service sectors can be exposed to labour exploitation risks, and we are determined to identify, prevent, and address these risks proactively.
Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Chelsea operates a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not tolerate any form of exploitation, whether direct or indirect, within our own workforce, in our supply chain, or in any business relationship connected to our services.
All employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers are required to behave in a manner that is consistent with this policy. We will not knowingly work with any individual or organisation involved in modern slavery. Where any credible concern is raised or evidence is found, we will take immediate and decisive action, which may include terminating contracts, reporting matters to the relevant authorities, and cooperating fully with any investigations.
Our Supply Chains and Supplier Audits
Our supply chains primarily include providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, storage facilities, and support services linked to removals and transportation. We expect all suppliers and business partners to uphold the same high standards that we set for ourselves.
To manage the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains, we are implementing supplier due diligence and audit measures. These include assessing new suppliers for their policies and practices on labour standards, reviewing contractual terms to reflect our zero-tolerance stance, and reserving the right to conduct audits or request evidence that demonstrates compliance with applicable labour laws and human rights standards.
Where higher risk is identified due to geography, sector, or the nature of services provided, we will apply enhanced checks. If suppliers are unable or unwilling to meet our expectations, we will seek alternative partners who demonstrate a firm commitment to ethical practices and the prevention of modern slavery.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Man with Van Chelsea encourages an open culture in which concerns about modern slavery can be raised without fear of retaliation. Everyone working for or with us is expected to report any suspicion or knowledge of exploitation, unsafe working conditions, or unethical conduct related to our business or supply chain.
Concerns may be raised with a manager or senior member of the business, or through any existing internal reporting channel. Reports will be treated seriously and, as far as reasonably possible, in confidence. We will investigate concerns promptly and, where appropriate, take remedial action and notify the relevant authorities. Victimisation of any person raising a concern in good faith is strictly prohibited.
Training and Awareness
We aim to build awareness of modern slavery risks across our team. This includes providing guidance on recognising indicators of forced labour or trafficking, the importance of right-to-work checks, and the procedures for reporting concerns. We expect managers and staff involved in procurement, recruitment, or supplier management to be particularly vigilant and informed about these issues.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with the leadership of Man with Van Chelsea. We review our policies, procedures, and due diligence activities on a regular basis to ensure they remain effective and appropriate for the nature and scale of our operations.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually. As part of this process, we will consider feedback from employees and suppliers, developments in legislation and best practice, and any incidents or concerns raised during the year. Where necessary, we will update our controls, training, and contractual arrangements to reinforce our zero-tolerance stance.
By maintaining these standards and continuously improving our practices, Man with Van Chelsea seeks to contribute to the wider effort to eliminate modern slavery and human trafficking in the transport and logistics sector and beyond.
